Arlyn Roe, 77, of Inwood died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Canton-Inwood Hospital, Canton, S.D.

Services were Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood, with interment in Richland Cemetery.

Mr. Roe was born July 3, 1926, in Canton, the son of Arthur and Palma (Monrad) Roe. He graduated from Canton High School in 1944 and from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1949.

On Aug. 4, 1949, he married Barbara Swenson in Inwood. They lived in Brookings, S.D., where he owned a photography studio almost 20 years, then had various sales positions in the area. In 1987, the couple moved to Pasadena, Texas, where he worked in a family business. In 1991, they retired and moved to Inwood.

He was active in Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and other civic activities. As a vocalist, he sang in church and community groups.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas of Brookings and Andrew of Maple Grove, Minn.; four daughters, Jane Sullivan of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Larry (Marry) Praytor of Pasadena, Texas, Margaret Roe of Canby, Minn., and Mrs. Todd (Kathryn) Lawrence of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Evvard of Grand Island, Neb., and Ross of Grants Pass, Ore., and two sisters, Edellyn Kudrna and Maevis Hales, both of Canton.
