Palmer Long, 93, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare-Covington Heights.

Services were Monday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, with interment in Grandview Covenant Cemetery, Larchwood.

Mr. Long was born Oct. 16, 1910, at Larchwood, the son of Charlie and Emma (Johnson) Long. He grew up and attended country school near Larchwood, then farmed.

In 1952, he married Isabelle Peterson at Powers Lake, N.D. They moved to Sioux Falls and continued farming.

His wife died in 1993. He became a resident of Beverly Healthcare-Covington Heights in early 2004.

Survivors include three sons, Daniel of Mandan, N.D., Mark of Sioux Falls and Timothy of Larchwood; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Carl of Harrisburg, S.D., and Joe of Sioux Falls, and one sister, Josephine Oltmanns of Lennox, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Ferdinand, Fromalt, Axel, John and David, and four sisters, Amanda, Betty, Sylvia and Roselia.
