Gertrude Genevive (Mann) Laackmann Nagel – July 6, 1906 – December 15, 198

Gertrude Nagel, 92, of Rock Valley died Tuesday, December 15, 1998, at Valley Manor Nursing Home. Services were Saturday at Sacred Health Catholic Church, Alvord with interment in the church cemetery.

Gertrude Mann was born July 6, 1906. She graduated from Doon High School in 1924 and attended college in Cedar Falls. She taught country school until 1931.

On May 24, 1928, she married Lou Laackman. He died October 18, 1967. On September 5, 1975, she married Carl Nagel. They lived in Doon. He died March 6, 1978.

Survivors include three sons, Louis of Luvere, Minnesota, Larry of Sacramento, California and Lon of Holland, Michigan; one daughter, Dolores Scholten of Sacramento, California; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one sister, Florence Larson of Sioux City.
