Alvord, IA: Halley Deion Teunissen, 60, of Alvord, Iowa died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church in Alvord with Pastor Corilee Boer officiating. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Halley was born November 28, 1953, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, to Willie and Audrey (Aldrich) Walker. Halley lived in numerous areas on account of her father being in the military. While living in Florida, Halley worked for NASA and was also a nurse. On September 24, 1990, she married Carl Teunissen in Niceville, Florida. Halley retired from nursing in the early 90’s. In 2004, Carl and Halley moved to Rock Valley to help take care of Carl’s mother, Ann and would later move to Alvord in 2007. Halley enjoyed watching television, caring for others, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Halley is survived by her husband, Carl of Alvord; sons, Adam Petersen and Daine (fiancé, Melissa) Petersen all of Little Elm, Texas; daughters, Teresa Petersen of Alachua, Florida and Corae (Ryan) Bailey of Alvord; brother, William (Vicki) Walker of Crestview, Florida; sister, Debra Jean (George) Frye of Niceville, Florida; step-sister, Pam (Mike) Campa of Durham, North Carolina; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Audrey; step-father, Bill Cox; family friend, Charles “Chuck” Mayes; and two infant sons.
