Roger Van Meeteren, 71, of Palmdale, Calif., died Jan. 31, 2004, at Antelope Valley Hospital, Lancaster, Calif.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery, Rock Rapids.

Mr. Van Meeteren was born Dec. 3, 1932, in Boyden, the son of Cordy and Mona (Van Diepen) Van Meeteren.

On Sept. 7, 1954, he married Shirley Stubbe. He owned and operated Van Meeteren Plumbing & Heating in Rock Rapids several years.

On July 20, 1974, he married Cathy Tille. They lived in California and Iowa, settling in Palmdale in 1997.

Survivors include his wife; one son Tony; two granddaughters; nine brothers, Ron, Pete, Arnie, Dan, Mark, Cory and Terry, all of California, Monte of Canton, S.D., and Mike of Nyssa, Ore., and three sisters, Frances Kosters of Cypress, Texas, Mrs. Burdell (Marlys) Symens of Heron Lake, Minn., and Mrs. Jerry (Ruth) Kroon of Sheldon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife.
