Robert Reinke, 70, of Madison, S.D., died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Madison Community Hospital.

Services were Tuesday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, S.D., with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Mr. Reinke was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Bridgewater, S.D., the son of Frank and Bernice (Middlen) Reinke. When he was 2, the family moved to a farm near Larchwood. He graduated from Larchwood High School in 1950. He served in army from 1953-55. He attended Gale Institute Vo-Tech where he studied railroad law and accounting. He worked as a survey crew inspector for the South Dakota Department of Transportation 10 years. He also worked for Sweetman Construction and later with an interstate highway construction crew for Kapperman Construction. He then worked as an engineer for the city of Sioux Falls. After retiring in February, 1996, he resided at Lake Madison.

Survivors include one son, Joel of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Leah) Steever of Davis, S.D., and Mrs. John (Cheryl) Cronberg of Luverne, Minn., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
