Born: February 2, 1950 Orange City, Iowa
Died: August 21, 2000 near Sioux Center, Iowa

Marlys Driesen 50, of Inwood formerly of Pella, Iowa died Monday August 21, 2000 of injuries suffered in an automobile/semi-truck accident near Sioux Center, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. at Protestant Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery in Inwood.

Mrs. Driesen was born Feb. 2, 1950 in Orange City, Iowa, the daughter of Cornelius and Nellie Vanden Berg.

She attended Hospers (Iowa) Christian School and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull.

She married Jay Driesen July 5, 1968 in Hospers. The couple lived in Colorado Springs, CO. before farming near Inwood.

They moved to Pella, where they were employed with Pella Window Co. They moved back to Inwood on Aug. 18, 2000, where she was employed with Pella Window at the plant located in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jared of Inwood, and Shannon of Pella; three daughters, Wendy and her husband, Robert Foels of Groton, N.Y., Jodi Drisen of Knoxville, Iowa, and Amanda Driesen of Inwood; two brothers and their wives, Stanley and Beth Vanden Berg of Ireton, Iowa, and Dennis and Jan Vanden Berg of Hospers; and a sister and her husband, Shirley and Jim Grooters of Simi Valley, CA.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Shannon Jay Driesen and her parents.
