Marjorie Ruth Mogler was born December 8, 1929, in rural Alvord, Iowa, to Henry and Pauline (Dietrich) Mogler. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Logan Township #1 through 8th grade. She then attended Lester High School, from which she graduated in 1947. Following her graduation, she worked at home on the farm for two years. In 1949, she became employed at Mogler Farm Industries – a position she held for 36 years. After retiring from there, she worked for Doug’s Appliance Service for 3˝ years and then gave part-time care to her niece’s children for a year. She was then employed part-time by Dutchland Foods for 13 years. During 41 of her years of employment, she also worked for the Lester City Treasurer. She retired completely in 2011, at the age of 81.

“Aunt Marge” especially enjoyed and appreciated family time, and had a special spot in her heart for each of her nieces and nephews as well as her many great-nieces and great-nephews, which was reciprocated. During their growing-up years, she read countless books to them all, held little hands on many walks, and played innumerable games with them. For many years, her siblings and in-laws as well as nieces and nephews along with their children fondly anticipated an annual outing to Pizza Ranch, compliments of Marjorie.

Marjorie’s faith was of the utmost importance to her. She became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in 1954 and served twelve years as a Sunday school teacher. Marjorie was also faithfully involved as an active participant in the church’s Single Group activities during her sixty years of membership.

She is survived by two brothers, Phil (Donna) Mogler (Rock Rapids) and Howard (Lillian) Mogler (Alvord); three sisters, Leona Moser (Lester), Florence Knoblock (Lester), and Melva Messner (Rittman, OH); one brother-in-law, Frank Moser (Larchwood); 11 nieces; 10 nephews; 48 great-nieces; 41 great-nephews; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Kellenberger and Verna Moser; four brothers-in-law, Adrian Kellenberger, Roland Messner, August Knoblock, and Leo Moser; two nephews, David Messner and Perry Mogler; four great-nephews, Ben Messner, Nathan Messner, Luke Messner, and Landon Wulf; and a great-great nephew, Tanner Wettstein.
