DEATH NOTICE:

Lester, Iowa - Perry Mogler, age 45, of Lester, died Monday September 15th, 2014, at his home after a three year battle with brain cancer.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 18th, 2014 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Lester.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17th with family present from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester.

The family requests NO flower arrangements or gifts. In lieu of these items a donation may be sent to: Apostolic Christian Church, c/o Perry Mogler Fund, 510 Dove Ave, Lester, IA 51242.

Perry Paul Mogler was born September 5, 1969 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Howard and Lillian (Luthi) Mogler. He was raised on a farm near Lester, Iowa, and graduated from West Lyon Community School in 1988. In 1992 he graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Ag Business and then returned to Lester to work beside his father and brothers in the family farming operation.

On August 3, 2002 he was united in marriage to Jessica Jensen from Luverne, Minnesota. They shared their 12 years of marriage together on a farm near Larchwood, Iowa. Blessed to this union were five children. Perry was baptized and became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church on October 21, 2012. Perry enjoyed farming, woodworking, camping, building and flying model airplanes and most of all spending time with his family.

Those blessed to have shared in Perry’s life and left to cherish his memory are his wife Jessica and their five children: Mallorie Lynn, Rier Paul, Elise Laree, Leah Joy, and Marissa Lynn of Larchwood, Iowa; parents, Howard and Lillian Mogler of Alvord, Iowa; brothers, Rodney (Lois) Mogler of Alvord, Iowa; Kent (Mary) Mogler of Mendota Heights Minnesota; Brian (Bev) Mogler of Alvord, Iowa; Dwight (Donna) Mogler of Alvord, Iowa; sisters, Beth (Myron) Knobloch of Alvord, Iowa; Wendy (Thadd) Knoblock of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and in-laws Randy and Cherie Jensen, Jamie and son Oscar Serreyn, and Jens “J.R.” Jensen all of Luverne, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Perry was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
