Ann Kracht, 72, of Rock Rapids died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids.

Services were Wednesday at Forster Community Center, Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

Ann Veldkamp was born Sept. 14, 1931, at Inwood, the daughter of Bert and Sadie (DeJong) Veldkamp. She grew up in the Inwood area and attended school, moving to Canton, S.D., in 1948.

On Jan. 30, 1951, she married Pete Kracht. They farmed in the Rock Rapids area.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rodney and Jerry, both of Rock Rapids; five grandchildren; two brothers, Bert of Lakewood, Calif., and Don of Windsor, Colo., and two sisters, Alice Van Raalte of Larchwood and Priscilla Kracht of Luverne, Minn.; one stepbrother, Dick Kracht of Luverne and three stepsisters, Jeanette Braasch of Minot, N.D., Albertha Flatberg of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Henrietta Wirtjes of Garretson, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda; one brother, Pete, and four sisters, Fannie Van Dyke, Grace Van Unen, Sadie Foos and Gertrude Terpstra.
