Mary Cornelia (Lynn) Ahrendt – December 9, 1925 – November 3, 2010
Mary Ahrendt, 84, of Inwood died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Fellowship Village, Inwood.
Services were Saturday, Nov. 6, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood, with interment in Richland Cemetery.
Mary Lynn was born Dec. 9, 1925, at Castana, the daughter of John and Katie (Nikolaisen) Lynn. She grew up near Castana and graduated from high school. She obtained her RN degree at St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Sioux City. She was a nurse for Dr. Anderson and Dr. Bullock at Onawa and later for Dr. Bullock at Inwood.
On Sept. 3, 1950, she married Kenneth Ahrendt in Luverne, Minn. They farmed north of Inwood. They retired and later moved to Fellowship Inn Apartments in Inwood.
At Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she was a member of Ladies Aid and Circles, taught Sunday School and helped with quilting. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Steve of Inwood; three daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Ovrebo of Halstad, Minn., Mrs. Paul (Mary) Barnes of Mandeville, La., and Linda Ahrendt of Pierre, S.D.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Peggy Tiahrt, and two brothers: James and Lyle.
