David Kruger

Winthrop, Minnesota -- David Earl Kruger, 60, of Winthrop, and formerly George, Iowa, died Friday, August 23, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society Home in Winthrop.

Services were held on August 29, 2013, at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George with Pastor Leland Paulson officiating.

David Earl Kruger was born November 20, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was adopted by Earl and Erma (Hampton) Kruger and was raised and educated in the George area. He later attended trade school in Sioux City to become a nurse. At the approximate age of 22, David was in an auto accident that left him paralyzed. He moved to Des Moines for rehabilitation. He then spent some time traveling throughout the United States. He lived in California for several years before returning to Hot Springs, S.D. Later, David moved to Mt. Lake, Minn., and then onto New Ulm before his health required him to move to the Good Samaritan Home in Winthrop.

Survivors include his sisters, Julie (Chris) Bokelman of Sun Valley, Nev. and Nancy Lessard of Hooksett, N.H.; one niece and two nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Erma (Hampton) Kruger, one brother, Kent Kruger and one brother-in-law, Gilbert Lessard.
