Anne Naugle, 84, of Larchwood died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, in Yankton, S.D.

Services were Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Larchwood, with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Anne Vainreb was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Pocahontas, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Stegge) Vainreb. She lived in Pocahontas, Sioux City and Larchwood. She attended school at St. Anthony Children's Home, Sioux City. In 1943, she enlisted in the Iowa Women's Army Corps, serving during World War II.

On March 4, 1946, she married Lawrence Naugle in Larchwood. They lived in Larchwood. She worked for a veterinarians' office in Larchwood and later at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., retiring in 1984.

Her husband died in 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Bergeron of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Dennis (Eileen) Mathison of Canton, S.D., and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Clarence and Joe, and two sisters, Mary Gengler and Agnes Cunningham.
