Edward C. Bergfield

Edward C. Bergfield, manager for the Farmers Elevator Company at George, Iowa, died Thursday, February 15, 1923. He sustained a paralytic stroke on February 5th and remained unconscious most of the time until his death.

The funeral was held at the Second Baptist church, Rev. Meyer and Rev. Boell conducting services. Interment was in the George, Iowa, cemetery.

Edward was born in Morgan county, Illinois, on June 21, 1865. He married Clara Newkirk at Broadlands, Illinois, on March 13, 1890. They had one son, Charles William, who, with the widow, survives him. The Bergfields settled in George in 1906.
