Henry Marlyn Moen, 84, of Inwood, IA, passed away on Thursday, June 20th, 2013 at Fellowship Village of Inwood. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Inwood with Rev. John Wolf officiating. Visitation, with family present will be held on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Memorials in his honor may be directed to Fellowship Village or Bethlehem Lutheran Church, both of Inwood, Iowa. Henry Marlyn "Hank"

Moen was born on November 30th, 1928 in Inwood. He was the son of Helmer D. and Johanne (Severtson) Moen. He attended school in Inwood, graduating in 1948 from Inwood High School. He enjoyed music from an early age and achieved many honors in vocal music as well as on the trombone. He sang countless solos and was an active part of the SD Symphony Chorus, Grieg Male Chorus as well as other community choruses, and church choirs for over 50 years.

He married the love of his life, Marguerite Lems on September 12, 1951. They had four children: Mary, Judy, Marlyn and Martha. Marguerite was a teacher who reached out to one of her students, David Hoffman and he became forever part of the Henry and Marguerite Moen family.

Henry served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953; serving the 25th Division in 1952 and the 40th Division in 1953. He became an expert welder and instructor of the trade during his time in the service. Upon his return, he joined his father and his brother, Herman, in the family business, H.D. Moen and Sons in 1954, later becoming Moen Farm Store; which achieved 90 years in business this year.

Henry and his wife were active in the community he called home his entire life. His love for the Lord and his strong faith were evident throughout his walk. He took great joy in his family and his faithfulness to his precious wife throughout her difficult journey was inspiring to all those who witnessed it. Henry embodied what it meant to love his family unconditionally and to support them through all of life's triumphs and trials. He encouraged those around him to enjoy life's precious gifts. We are so blessed to have had such remarkable parents that lived their lives loving the Lord, their extended families, their community and one another. He will be greatly missed and his legacy will live on forever in all of our hearts.

Survivors include: his children, Mary (Bill) Kuss of Kenosha, Wiscosin; Judy (Jeff) Berger of New York, New York; Marlyn (Lu) Moen of Foristell, Missouri; Martha (Jeff) Frohwein of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Dave Hoffman of Sioux Falls; Nine Grandchildren: Ashley(Andy) Henson of Farmington Mo; Alexandra Kuss of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Elyse and Kirsten Moen of Foristell, Missouri; Jennifer (Jenny) Kuss of Kenosha; Stephanie (Steph) Frohwein of Sioux Falls; Amanda and Kelly Hoffman of Larchwood, Iowa; Matthew Frohwein of Sioux Falls, and one Great Grandaughter, Harper Henson of Farmington, Missouri; Two siblings and their spouses: Jane (Marlo) Hanson of Inwood, and June (Don) Katt of Alton, Iowa; In-laws: Bert ( Marge) Lems of Beloit, Iowa, Donna(Dean) Whitcomb of Sioux Falls; Paul (Janet) Lems, of Canyon County, CA; Emma (Bill) DeJong of Sheldon, Iowa; Clarence (Alice) Lems of Canton, South Dakota; Hilda (Ber) Krommendyk of Omaha, Neb.; Ruth(Chuck) Oldenkamp of Alexandria, Minn.; George Lems of Beloit, Iowa; Gerald (Cheryl) Lems of Beloit, Iowa; Dick(Ann) Dykstra of Hull, Iowa; many cousins, nieces and nephews and treasured friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marguerite, who went to be with the Lord on January 31st, 2013, his parents, his brother Herman, sisters Angela, Charlotte, Mary and infant sister, June Doris.
