Kenneth Mulder – January 6, 1933 – September 13, 2005

Kenneth Mulder, 72, of Boyden, died Tuesday, Sept. 13,2005,at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, Iowa , after suffering a stroke. He bravely battled prostate cancer nearly 19 years and Liver cancer for past three months.
Services will be 2p.m.Friday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, Iowa, Burial will be in Sheridan Township Cemetery, Boyden.

Kenneth was born to George & Jennie (Schneidermann) Mulder on Jan. 6,1933,in rural Little Rock, Iowa .He grew up on the farm near Little Rock and attended Independent 3 country school. He received Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of eight and was baptized. He graduated from Little Rock High school in 1950.

On Jan. 18, 1952, he married Jeanette Stomberg at Tabernacle Baptist Church. They moved to a tenant house on his parents farm. In addition to farming for eight years, he built farm wagons and did welding jobs for area farmers. He also did upholstery work and made cabinets for others. In 1960, he went to work at Niessink Implement in Rock Rapids, Iowa as a salesman. In 1962,the couple moved to Boyden where he worked as the sales manager for Dethmers Manufacturing Co (Demco). In 1974, he became a co-worker of Demco.

He continued to provide leadership to the company until his retirement in March 1997, following 35 years of service. One of his passions was singing with the Ambassador Quartet. For more than 40 years, their ministry of music and personal testimonies touched many lives in a four - state area. He also volunteered his service on many boards include Tabernacle Baptist Church boards and building committees, the Boyden City Council, Northwest Iowa Community College, Sheldon Community Hospital and Northwest College. He was a generous, visionary, loving man who was also a great communicator and an encouraging person. He loved being with his family and Sunday dinners were a favorite for him since the family was the focus.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jeanette; two children, Janelle(Doug)Bukelman and Jerry (Toi) Mulder; seven grandchildren; Sara (Bob) Kleinwolterink, Ryan(Camilla)Beukleman, Justin Beukelman, Megan Mulder, Nicole Mulder, Lauren Mulder and Kaitlyn Mulder; two great-grandchildren, Caden Kleinwolterink and Dyllan Mulder; four sisters, Frances(Johnny) De Berg Harms,Helene (Marvin) Kanengieter, Emma Jane Reed and Lois(Ray)Boone; a sister-in-law, Leona (Charles) Terhark; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents;an infant son, Larry; parents-in-laws, Neal & Jennie Stomberg; brother-in-law, Alvin DeBerg and Charles Reed;a sister-in-law and her husband, Harriet & Enno Wagenaar.
