Henry Ward Husmann – September 1, 1880 – December 20, 1964

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR HENRY HUSMANN HELD WEDNESDAY-

Funeral services for Henry W. Husmann, 84, of Rock Rapids who died Sunday (20 Dec after a long illness, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church north-east of George. Rev. John Reimer officiated and burial was in the Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Husmann, who had been a resident of rural Rock Rapids for more than 50 years, was a member of the First Baptist Church near George.

Survivors are the widow, Elizabeth; 1 daughter, Mrs. Andrew Voss, of Rock Rapids; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Husmann was preceded in death by a son, Heinie, in 1955.

HENRY HUSMANN DIED HERE SUNDAY-

Henry W. Husmann, well known Lyon county farmer for more than a half century, died Sunday at Merrill Pioneer hospital. He had been in failing health for several years.

Funeral services are to be held at The First Baptist church northeast of George, Tuesday December 22, at 2:00 p.m. Jongewaard funeral home is making the arrangements. The Rev. John Reimer will officiate with burial to be made at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tony Arends will be at the organ for the services and the Rev. and Mrs. Reimer will sing two duets, "All The Way My Savior Leads Me", and "Shall We Gather At The River". Bearers will be Jake Timmer, Elmer Van Anken, John Ohling, Egbert Ohling, Wally Reemtsma and Floyd Rust.

Henry W. Husmann was born at Decatur, Ill., on September 1, 1880. He lived there for some years and moved west to locate in Lyon County more than a half century ago. He was the son of Henry W. and Tena Bonk Husmann.

Survivors are his wife Elizabeth Honescheit Husmann, whom he married December 25, 1939; a daughter, Frieda, Mrs. Andrew Voss of this community, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Heinie Husmann of Villard, Minn. Also surviving him are 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, Jane Vust Husmann, in 1938; and his son Heinie in 1955.
