Naomi Hohman, 96, of Larchwood died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital, Canton, S.D.

Services were Monday at United Church of Christ, Larchwood, with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Naomi Hotvet was born Feb. 26, 1907, in Logan Township, Lyon County, the daughter of O.C. and Martha (Foss) Hotvet. She attended Augustana Academy in Canton, S.D., and graduated from Larchwood High School in 1927. She attended Iowa State Teachers College and taught in country schools in Lyon County.

On July 9, 1929, she married Floyd Hohman in Sioux Falls, S.D. Her husband died in 1995. For the past three years, she has been a resident of Fellowship Village in Inwood.

At United Church of Christ, she served as organist, taught Sunday School and belonged to Women's Fellowship. She was a member of Federated Women's Club, served on the library board and was a member of Lyon County Extension Club.

Survivors include three sons, Paul of Canton, Dale of Arvada, Colo., and Mark of Larchwood; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ruth Holland of Inwood and Grace Geick of Luverne, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Craig Hohman; one brother, Milton, and six sisters, Olive Nelson, Alice Coffield, Ruby Jacobsen, Muriel Berkland, Stella Berdahl and Inez Stensland.
