Anna Wynia, 85, of Rock Rapids died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Rock Rapids Health Centre.

Services were Friday at Roste Funeral Home, Rock Rapids, with interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center.

Anna De Vos was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Goudswaard, Netherlands, to Cornelius and Neeltje (Van Bochove) De Vos. When she was 7, the family came to the United States. She attended country school in Sioux County.

On Sept. 18, 1940, she married Louis Wynia in Rock Valley. They farmed near Ireton until moving in 1954 to a farm southeast of Rock Rapids where they farmed over 50 years. They became residents of Rock Rapids Health Centre on Dec. 31, 2001.

Her husband died Jan. 25, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Frank and Curtis, both of Rock Rapids; two daughters, Nellie Van Veldhuizen of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Dennis (Janice) Weets of Grandview, Wash.; 28 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Corwin; one great-granddaughter, Marissa Wynia; five brothers, William, Clarence, Joe, Cornie and Tunis, and two sisters, an infant Lena and Lena Keunen.
