Paul Boom Sr., 85, of Ellsworth, Minnesota, died on Sunday, December 21, 2003, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home, Ellsworth.

Services were Wednesday at American Reformed Church, Luverne, Minnesota, with interment in Beaver Creek (Minn.) Cemetery.

Mr. Boom was born October 24, 1918, in Hills, Minnesota, the son of Chris and Sarah (Miersma) Boom.

On August 5, 1942, he married Marian Dodeward in Lester. They farmed near Lester six years. In 1950, they moved to a farm near Beaver Creek where they lived until retiring and moving to Luverne. In December 2001, they moved to Parkview Manor.

His wife died Feb. 8, 2002.

Survivors include one son, Marlin of Ellsworth; two daughters, Mrs. George (Cheryl) Krumholz of Richfield, Minnesota, and Mrs. Robert (Connie) Melton of Worthington, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis of Rock Rapids, and three sisters, Winnie Van Engen of Hull, Sarah Bouwman of Brandon, So. Dakota, and LuBertha Boom of Lester.
