William Tilstra, 88, of Minneapolis, Minn., died Thursday, December 18, 2003, at a veterans' hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Services were Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood, with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton, South Dakota.

Mr. Tilstra was born in Inwood, the son of Garrit and Katie Tilstra. He served in the navy and taught refrigeration at Dunwoody Institute.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruth, and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers and sisters.
