at Alvord

ALVORD, IOWA — The funeral of the late Pete Steen of Lake Bonton, Minn., who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jack Kroeger, was held Sunday afternoon from the Home.

Mr. Steen was an old settler of Alvord and had a host of friends who will mourn his death. He was engaged in the implement business for a good many years and lived in Alvord until after the death of his wife, several years ago. He then decided to live with his children and it was at Mrs. Kroeger's home that he passed away. He had been in very poor health for a number of years. The Lutheran minister from Lake Benton officiated at the funeral. Odd Fellows acted as pall bearers and the Rebekahs furnished music.

He leaves to mourn his loss, one son, John of Spencer, S. D., his daughters, Mrs. Kr* of Remsen, Mrs. Swan Anderson of Merrill, and Mrs. Kroeger* of Lake Benton.
