Obituary:

Inwood, Iowa - Patrick Thompson, 38, of Sioux Falls, So. Dakota, formerly of Inwood, died early Friday July 6, 2007 as a result of a motorcycle accident while riding as a passenger with a friend in Sioux Falls. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, northwest of Inwood. Burial at Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery.

Rev. John Wolf and Intern Pastor Ben Travis will be officiating. Visitation with family 7-9 pm Monday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Porter Funeral Home of Inwood in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Damen Thompson was born May 27, 1969 at Sioux Falls, SD. He was the son of Chester and Sandy (Brown) Thompson of rural Inwood, Iowa. Pat attended school at West Lyon Community School and graduated in 1987. He was a confirmed member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of rural Inwood and while living in Sioux Falls was attending the Celebrate Wesleyan Church. Pat lettered all 4 years in football and after graduating, joined the Army Reserve, and also attended NITC at Sheldon, IA for a year. Pat eventually became a Journeyman Pipe Fitter, and was employed by Total Fire Protection of Brandon, South Dakota.

Pat had four children, Brody, Kiya, Leah, and Kyler. A special joy in Pat?s life was his daughter, Kiya, who loved spending time with her daddy. They were truly buddies. Pat was a very hard worker and loved to live life to its fullest. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was generous to everyone he knew, and was almost fanatic about having everything in its place.

He is survived by four children, Brody, Kiya, Leah, and Kyler; his parents, Chester and Sandy Thompson of Inwood; grandparents, Bob and Lil Williams of Sioux Falls; his aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Preceding Pat in death are his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Vernie Brown; paternal grandparents, Chester and Inga Thompson.
