Obituary--

Inwood, Iowa - Peter Jacobsma, age 85, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at his home in Inwood, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Inwood Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Sam Krikke and Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Burial will follow at the Richland Cemetery. A visitation with family present will be 2:30 - 4:30pm, Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Inwood Christian Reformed Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.porterfuneralhomes.com. Peter's family prefers memorials be directed to the Inwood Christian School.

Peter was born February 6, 1927 to Robert and Anna (Kooima) Jacobsma in Rock Valley, Iowa. On December 16, 1927 he married Grace Veltkamp in Rock Valley. Together they farmed between Rock Valley and Inwood until 1965 when they moved to Inwood where Pete owned Inwood Feed and Milling and became involved with Kiwanis, served on the Inwood CRC council, and was one of the first counselors of the Inwood Cadet Club.

In 1980, Grace and Pete moved to Visalia, California where Pete delivered feed and was a charter member of Trinity CRC. Through the years Pete enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. Pete and Grace retired back to Inwood in 2006.

Peter is survived by his wife, Grace; four sons, Robert (LaVerna) of Hartford, South Dakota, Perry (Stephanie) of Tulare, Calif., Randy (Vicki) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Brian (Wanita) of Inwood, Iowa; brothers, Larry (Gladys) Jacobsma of Visalia, Calif.; brother-in-law, Adrian (Jean) Intveld of Bellflower, Calif.; sisters, Theresa De Wit of Hull, Iowa and Clara (Delvin) Kuhl of Slayton, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, JoHanna Jacobsma; sister, Frances Intveld; brother, Jacob Jacobsma; and brother-in-law, Harold De Wit.
