Judith Dorthea (Crary) Ter Wee Kersting

August 3, 1938 – October 10, 2006

Memorial services will be on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in rural Inwood, Iowa for Judy C. Ter Wee-Kersting, 68 of Osakis, Minnesota who passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital after a brief recurrence of cancer. Pastor John Wolf will officiate. Interment will be in the Richland Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the church.

A second memorial service will be be on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Roy-Hetland Chapel in Osakis. Reverend John G. Taplin will officiate.

Judy was born on August 3, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Pastor Judson and Dorthea (Lemstrom) Crary. She grew up in the State of Washington. Judy attended Augstana Academy in Canton, South Dakota where she met her first husband Johnny Ter Wee. They were married in September of 1956 in Seattle, Washington. He preceded her in death in September of 1966.

She later married Jasper Ter Wee on November 24, 1967 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Inwood, Iowa. Judy resided in the Inwood area for many years working first as a farm wife and mother and later as a Certified Optician in Sioux Falls. She later moved to the Okoboji area where she continued to work as a Certified Optician.

Judy married John G. Kersting on July 10, 2004 in Spencer, Iowa and moved to Lake Osakis, Minnesota where she resided until her death.

Judy was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, shopping and traveling. Her compassionate nature, fierce dedication, and unwavering faith will be missed by all who knew her.

Survived by her husband, John G. Kersting of Osakis, Minnesota; children, Gary (Linda) Ter Wee of Spencer, Iowa, Terry (Gloria) Ter Wee of Seminole, Oklahoma, Andrew (Jennifer) Ter Wee of Larchwood, Iowa, and Jennie (Jim) Tupper of Indianola, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; step children, John William Kersting of Randall, Minnesota, Rob Kersting of Randall, Minnesota, Kathy (Chris) Lawrence of Longmount, Colorado and Beth (Jamie) Gruebele of Sartell, Minnesota sisters, Virginia Edlund of Roseville, California, Grace Crary of West Linn, Oregon, Deborah Kennedy of Rock Valley, Iowa and Rebecca Brown of Portland, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James; brother, Judson; and sister, Mary.
