Obituary:

Inwood, Iowa - Lyle Jensen, 94, of Inwood, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Sanford Canton-Inwood Hospital, Canton. Funeral Service 11:00 am Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood. Burial at Richland Cemetery. Rev. John Wolf officiating. Visitation Friday until 4 pm at Porter Funeral Home of Inwood and 6-8 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the family present.

Lyle D. Jensen was born August 3, 1916 on a farm south east of Inwood, son of Walter and Kamilla (Pedersen) Jensen. He graduated from Larchwood High School and then was employed at Quaker Oats Elevator at Rock Rapids, Iowa, for two years.

Lyle entered the U.S. Army in November 1942 and after returning in 1946 he started farming north east of Inwood.

He married Dorothy (Helder) Jensen on March 1960. Together they remained on the farm until May of 1985 when they retired and moved into Inwood. In February 2009, they moved into the Village Inn Apartments. Lyle was past trustee of Bethlehem Lutheran Church; served on the Inwood Farmers Elevator Board; on the Lyon County ASCS committee; and was a member of American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; sons, Rodney (Shirley) Jensen of San Antonio, Texas, Richard (Paula) Jensen, Jim (Rhonda) Jensen all of Larchwood, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Orval Larson of Harrisburg, So. Dak.; sister-in-law, Stacy Jensen of Palm Desert, California.

Lyle was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Al Clercx; brother, James "Bud" Jensen.
