Wally Ter Wee

Service: March 6, 2006: First Reformed Church, Inwood, Iowa.

Wallace Ter Wee, 60, died Friday, March 3, 2006 at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Funeral service: First Reformed Church, Inwood, Iowa. Burial will be at Richland Cemetery.

Wallace Duane Ter Wee was born February 28, 1946 to Garret and Jessie (Brouwer) Ter Wee in Canton, South Dakota. He attended country school for five years and then went to West Lyon Community School, graduating in 1964. Wally served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1967 as a Military Policeman.

Wally married Deborah Jean Crary in 1968 in Seattle, Washington. They lived and farmed in the Inwood area. Later Wally was the research farm manager at Grand Laboratories for 20 years. Wally and Deborah's marriage ended in 1992.

From 2002-2004, Wally was married to Sandra (Meendering) Blankespoor. The last few months, Wally was a driver for Wendling Trucking in Bryant, So. Dakota. Wally was a member of Inwood First Reformed Church since he was 18. He had served as deacon and elder. As a young adult, Wally enjoyed success in the demolition derbies at Inwood's Annual 4th of July Celebrations. He continued to enjoy crop farming throughout his life and helped his family in the field when possible. Wally had a heart for helping out others around him and made many friends. He also enjoyed going to estate and farm auctions.

Wally is survived by his sons: Jason Garret Ter Wee and Matthew Judson Ter Wee both of Sioux Center, Iowa; brothers Jasper (Karen) Ter Wee and Henry (Minerva) Ter Wee all of Inwood, Peter (Mickey) Ter Wee and Jerry (Mary) Ter Wee all of Larehwood; sisters: Rena Ter Wee of Rock Rapids and Betty (James) Leuthold of Magnolia, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Gerald (Dorothy) Menholt of Canton; 27 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; brothers: John Ter Wee and Garret Ter Wee Jr.; sister, Jennie Menholt.
