Hilda Klinkenborg, 81, of George died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Rapids.

Services were Tuesday at Hope Reformed Church, George, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.

Hilda Bruns was born Aug. 11, 1922, at George, the daughter of Henry and Christine (Goldhorn) Bruns. She attended country school and graduated from George High School. She received teacher training at Cedar Falls.

On June 30, 1943, she married Elmore Klinkenborg. They farmed near George and she taught country school for a time. In 1992, they retired and moved into George.

Her husband died April 14, 1996. She lived in Premier Estates in Rock Rapids a couple years, then moved to Lyon Manor July 11, 2002.

At Hope Reformed Church, she taught Sunday School and was a member of Esther Circle. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include three sons, Kerwin of Rock Rapids, Keith of Alexandria, Va., and Dale of George; one daughter, Nadean of Nye, Mont.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three sisters, Lorraine Wibben, Mrs. Daryl (Beverly) Janssen and Mrs. Keith (Augusta) Hansman, all of George.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one infant brother.
