Henrietta (Korenberg) De Noble

January 27, 1920 - September 14, 2009

Lester, Iowa - Henrietta De Noble, age 89 of Hills, Minnesota, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 17th at Bethel Reformed Church in Lester with Pastor Donald Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Lester.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

Henrietta De Noble was born January 27, 1920 in Boyden, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Elizabeth (Uit De Flesch) Korenberg. At an early age Henrietta’s family moved to a farm near Rock Rapids, Iowa. She attended country school and helped with the daily chores on the farm.

Henrietta was united in marriage to Cornelius “Neal” De Noble on April 29, 1940. Together they lived on a farm near Lester, Iowa before moving to a farm near Larchwood, Iowa in 1943. In 1944 they moved to a farm north of Lester, Iowa and remained there until their retirement in 1977.

After retirement they moved to Hills, Minnesota. On December 5, 1993 Henrietta’s husband, Neal died after 53 years of marriage. Henrietta enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and travel.

In May of 2009 Henrietta entered the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota, where she remained living until this past Monday, September 14, 2009, when she passed away at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne, Minnesota, at the age of 89.

She is survived by six children, Lyda (Harold) Timmerman of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Robert (Karen) De Noble of Hills, Minnesota, Betty Kooima of Rock Valley, Iowa, Marlin (Judy) De Noble of Hills, Minnesota, Dwight (Alvina) De Noble of Hills, Minnesota and Cheryl (Darrell) Hoekstra of Alton, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Anna Juffer of Doon, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Rena Korenberg of Hartley, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Elizabeth Korenberg; her husband, Cornelius “Neal” De Noble; her infant son, Conrad Dale De Noble; two brothers, Gerrit Korenberg and John Korenberg; and two sisters, Bertha Fluit and Mina Sueverkruebbe
