Peggy E (Clercx) Reemts – April 1, 1939 – December 12, 2006

PEGGY E. REEMTS, age 67, of Worthington, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

She was born April 1, 1939 in Larchwood, Iowa to parents John and Mary (Kramer) Clercx. She graduated from high school in Lester, Iowa. After her schooling she worked as a telephone operator in Rock Rapids and Sheldon, Iowa. She later worked at the City Utilities Office in Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Peg was united in marriage to Virgil Reemts on July 22, 1959 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. They made their home in Rock Rapids until 1968 when they moved to Worthington. Peg owned and operated a salon in Worthington that offered Merle Norman cosmetics and wigs. She later worked for Prairie Decorating and Hanson Furniture Store. Her most recent employment included bookkeeping at Columbia Propane in Worthington.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and served as treasurer for many years. Peg enjoyed life to the fullest. She decorated cakes and made a variety of cakes for all occasions. She did a lot of scrap booking for friends and family. Peg also cared for animals, especially dogs and cats. She especially loved her husband and family and was very proud of her grandchildren. She will be remembered by all for her kindness and generosity.

Peg is survived by her husband, Virgil Reemts, Worthington; her mother Mary Cercx, Rock Rapids, IA; children, Dawn (Mike) Ling, Ames, IA; Gay Harberts, Worthington and Melody (Gary) Ailts, Rushmore; seven grandchildren, Amber Roberts, David Ling, Christina Ling, Andrew Harbert, Lynn Harberts, Travis Ailts and Keith Ailts; one great grandson and one brother Duaine (Jeanette) Clercx, Rock Rapids, IA.
Visitation: 4 - 7 PM December 15, 2006 at Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, MN
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM December 16, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Worthington, MN
