Meta (Huls) Heidebrink – August 21, 1896 – March 1986

META HEIDEBRINK

Funeral services were held March 31 for Mrs. Meta (Huls) Heidebrink at Trinity Reformed Church in Sibley. Reverend James S. Boogerd and Reverend Andrew B. Meyer officiated. Burial was at Sunset Rest Cemetery, Rushmore, Minnesota, with Andringa Funeral Home of Sibley in charge of the arrangements.

Meta Heidebrink was born August 21, 1896, to Leendert and Hiska (Eihausen) Huls at Renville, Minnesota, where she lived until 1901 when she moved to Marshall, Oklahoma, where she attended grade school. In 1913 she moved with her parents to Forreston, Illinois, and in 1916 she moved to Rock Rapids, Iowa.

On February 17, 1920, she was married to John J. Heidebrink of Rock Rapids. In 1925 they moved and farmed near rural Rushmore, Minnesota; three years later they moved to town. John died on December 18, 1964, and in 1967 Meta moved to Sibley.

She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church of Sibley and Church Guild. She was a member of the Sibley American Legion Auxiliary. She died March 28 at the Osceola Cummunity Hospital at the age of 89.

Survivors include one son Leonard D. and wife Glenna of Greenville, Tennesee; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four sisters; Mrs. Webbe (Olga) Hinrichs of Little Rock; Mrs. Carroll (Leona) Morey of Chula Vista, California; Mrs Harriet Kruse and Mrs. Ben (Mildred) Christians, Sr. both of Sibley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brother, and four sisters.
