Cornie "Case" Adrian Landegent was born January 20, 1932 near Sioux Center, Iowa, son of John and Annie (Vander Linden) Landegent. He grew up on a farm near Rock Valley where he went to school. After working in Rock Valley, he served his country in the 45th Infantry of the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953-55 during the Korean Conflict. Case married Jeanne Nobel on April 15, 1955 in Rock Valley.

They lived in Rock Valley and Bellflower, Calif. before moving to a farm near Alvord in 1958. After farming 33 years, Case and Jeanne moved to Inwood in 1991. During retirement, Case enjoyed helping his son on the farm, doing various other jobs, and touring the countryside with Jeanne as he read the meters for REC.

Case and Jeanne enjoyed traveling, seeing all 50 states and several foreign countries. During his lifetime, he taught his son, daughters, son in-laws, and later his grandchildren, the art of patience when fishing. He thoroughly enjoyed going to all the grandchildren's music and sports activities, being very proud of how well they did. His family was his life.

Case was a faithful member of the Inwood CRC and served on the council. He supported Christian education and served on the Inwood Christian School Board. He was also a member of the Alvord American Legion, the Canton VFW, and the DAV.

Case is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Jeanne; children, LaVonda (Casey) Scholten of Larchwood, Michelle (Dan) Teunissen of Alvord, Craig (Sharon) Landegent of Alvord; Sheila (Dan) Ter Wee of Inwood, and Dawn (Jim) Halling of Harrisburg, South Dakota; 20 grandchildren; brothers, Hubert (Willie) Landegent, Bill (Alma) Landegent both of Rock Valley, Iowa, John (Audrey) Landegent of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Adrian (Nyla) Landegent of Rock Valley; sister, Kay (Jack) Van Otterloo of Lakewood, Calif.; brother-in-law, Bernie (Helen) Nobel of LaBelle, Florida; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Leonard) VerHey of Lennox, South Dakota.
