REIT, Herman "Bud" George, Sr.

CMSgt USAF Retired (30 years)

He passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the age of 88, at home in Citrus Heights, CA. Born February 16, 1922 in Alvord, Iowa to Herman and Emma Jensen Reit.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Schemmel and Camilla Kroeger.

He married his high school sweetheart Cleo Lape on December 4, 1943. They have 5 children. Carol (Hobie) Monk of Plant City, FL, Ruth (Ken) Peer of Tucson, AZ, Herman G, Jr (deceased), Sandra (Louis) Parker of Phoenix, AZ, and Billy (Tracy) Reit of Denison, IA. Also a good next door neighbor and son-in-law, Larry Solesbee. They have 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

A full military honors memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1PM at Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church, 5839 Dewey Drive, Citrus Heights, CA 95621. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Mercy Hospice or Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church.
