Obituary: Inwood, IA: Raymond Jungersen, 96, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at Fellowship Village, Inwood. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood. Private burial at Richland Cemetery. Rev. John Wolf officiating. Public viewing from noon - 8 p.m. on Sunday at Porter Funeral Home, Inwood. Visitation with the family after the memorial service at the church on Monday.

Raymond Edward Jungersen was born May 26, 1914 to Lars and Carrie (Teigen) Jungersen on the family farm near Inwood, IA. He graduated from Inwood High School in the Class of 1932 and attended Iowa Teachers College for 1 year.

Raymond was united in marriage to Abbie Moreland on June 20, 1936 in Rock Rapids, IA. Together they farmed southeast of Inwood until retiring in 1977. In 1992 they moved into Inwood. Raymond and Abbie moved to Fellowship Village in July of 2003. Abbie died September 2, 2008. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Raymond enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cribbage, bowling and especially spending time with family.

Raymond is survived by his 4 daughters: Judy Griffith of Chicago, IL, Nancy McFadden of Aberdeen, SD, Sally (Tarver) Bailey of Appling, GA and Jill (Dave) Linden of Littleton, CO; 1 son, Peter (Clareen) Jungersen of Fallbrook, CA; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Charles Moreland of Whittier, CA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Abbie; grandson, Lucas Bailey; brother, James Jungersen; sisters: Stella Barry, Opal Schemmel and Alta Fosaaen.
