Obituary:

Inwood, Iowa -- Lois Heyden, 78, of Inwood, died Wednesday at Canton-Inwood Hospital, Canton, South Dakota.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Alvord, Iowa. Burial at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Alvord. Rev. Carla Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday with the family present from 5 - 7 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, Inwood.

Lois Ione Serck was born December 27, 1928 to Edward and Clara (Peters) Serck in Alvord, Iowa. Lois graduated from high school and attended Normal Training School in Spencer, Iowa, and taught for two years. She was united in marriage to Lyle Heyden on June 5, 1948 at Christ Lutheran Church, Alvord. To this union they had four children. The oldest, Sandra died in 1965.

Together, Lois and Lyle farmed in the Lyon County, Iowa and Tyler, Minnesota, areas until moving to Inwood in 1981 to own and operate the Town and Country Drive Inn. In 1990 they retired and delivered motor homes around the country. Lois moved to Fellowship Village in October of 2004.

Lois is survived by her husband, Lyle of Inwood; sons: Vic (Karen) Heyden of Larchwood, Jeff (Cindy) Heyden of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mike (Lori) Heyden of Atlanta, Georgia; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon Serck of Inwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Heyden.
