Elizabeth Arends 76 Little Rock, Iowa Jan. 27, 2011

Elizabeth Arends, 76, of Little Rock died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Lyon Manor Nursing & Rehab Center, Rock Rapids.

Services were Monday, Jan. 31, at First Baptist Church, rural George, with interment in the church cemetery.

Elizabeth Kruse was born May 12, 1934, near Little Rock, the daughter of Klaas and Elizabeth (Kruse) Kruse. She attended country school and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1952. She began working at Rock Rapids State Bank in Little Rock.

On Nov. 28, 1955, she married Henry Arends. In 1957 they moved to Sibley where she worked at Sibley State Bank. In 1958 they moved back to Little Rock where she worked various jobs in the area. In 1961 they moved to near Little Rock area.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Lon of Ellsworth, Minn., and Len and Layton, both of Little Rock; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Lana) Henrichs of Kanaranzi, Minn.; seven grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one sister, Claretta Van Sloten of Rock Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
