Mrs. H. DEBOER OF GEORGE BURIED SATURDAY, JANUARY 28

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, George, on January 28 for Mrs. Harry DeBoer who died of a stroke at her home on Wednesday, January 25, at the age of 79.

Mrs. Deboer was born in Butler County, Iowa in the year 1876, the daughter of the late John A. and Mrs. Kruger. On February 24, 1904, she was united in marriage to Harry DeBoer and to this union were born eight children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of George and also a member of the church’s ladies aid.

Mr. and Mrs. DeBoer celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in 1954, surrounded by their children and grandchildren. Mrs. DeBoer had been in failing health since 1950.

Surviving are her husband and eight children including: Mrs. John G. Kruger (Jennie) Sherman, South Dakota; Mrs. Cornelius Freese (Jessie); Mrs. Reiner A Henrichs (Grace); and Peter of Little Rock; Mrs. Wiard Mudder (Alma) of Worthington, Minnesota; and John; Jake; and Helen of George. She also had 29 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, four brothers including Aeilt and Jake of Sibley; and George and peter of George; one sister; Jennie J. Kruger of Minneapolis, and a host of relatives and friends.

The Rev. J. Reimer officiated at the funeral, assisted by the Rev. J. Jordan, and interment was made in the church cemetery.

Hilka “Helen” Kruger was born in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of John Kruger and Geske (Boomgaarden) Kruger.

Her first husband was Helmar Jannsen DeBoer was born October 9, 1873, the son of Jan Folkerts DeBoer and Janna (DeVries) DeBoer. He died January 6, 1903.

Jessie (DeBoer) Freese was born July 25, 1900
Alma (DeBoer) Mudder was born September 10, 1903

Her second husband was Harry DeBoer, who she married on February 24, 1904, another son of Jan Folkerts DeBoer and Janna (DeVries) DeBoer.

Five children were born to this marriage:

Helen H DeBoer was born February 3, 1911
Peter Harry DeBoer was born March 18, 1916
Grace Lillian (DeBoer) Henrichs was born August 2, 1918
