Lorraine Marie (Kruger) DeBoer – January 29, 1949 – February 27, 2006

Lorraine Marie DeBoer, 57, Ellsworth, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident.

Services were Friday, March 3, at First Baptist Church in rural George, Iowa. The Rev. Steve May officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Lorraine Kruger was born to Helmer M. and Lena (Waalkes) Kruger on Jan. 29, 1949, in Sibley, Iowa. She grew up in rural George and graduated from George High School.

She married Wilbert DeBoer on May 31, 1975, at First Baptist Church in rural George. They lived in the rural Ellsworth area. After raising her children, she worked at various area nursing homes.

Mrs. DeBoer was an active lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Christian Hour Circle and the Beth Moore Bible study group. She enjoyed needlework, embroidery, gardening, caring for her cats and being active in her church. She also enjoyed the addition of her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Isaac and Nicki Jonason-DeBoer, Luverne, one daughter, Esther DeBoer, St. Louis Park; two grandchildren, Brianna and Zachary DeBoer, Luverne; her father, Helmer Kruger; one brother, Marten (Betty) Kruger, Luverne; one sister, Anna Kruger, La Habra, Calif.; one niece, Heather Kruger; and one nephew, Jonathan Kruger.

Mrs. DeBoer was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert, and her mother.

Roste Funeral Home, George, was in charge of arrangements.
