Rock Valley, Iowa: Harvey Burggraaf, 72, of Inwood, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Fellowship Village at Inwood due to cancer. Memorial Service will be 2:30 pm Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Netherlands Reformed Congregation at Rock Valley with Rev. Herman Hofman officiating. Burial will be prior at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Visitation with family present 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.

Peter Harvey Burggraaf was born December 3, 1939 at Rock Rapids, Iowa, son of Peter and Ada (Van Den Oever) Burggraaf. He served in U.S. Army 1962-64. Harvey married Clazina Fluit April 12, 1965 at the Fluit homestead near Alvord, Iowa. They lived NE of Inwood. Harvey last worked at S&R Manufacturing in Rock Rapids until retiring in 2000. He enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, reading newspapers and having friends and family out to the acreage to visit and play games.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Clazina; a son, Perry (Meghan) Burggraaf of Miles City, Montana; daughters, Linda Burggraaf of Ireton, Iowa, Teresa (Allen) den Hoed of Boyden, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Rheatta Burggraaf, Jessica Osterkamp, Alex Engeltjes, Austin, Keon, Ethan, Triston den Hoed; brothers, William (Geneva) Burggraaf of Rock Valley, James (Joyce) Burggraaf of Hull, Iowa; sisters, Barbara (Cornie) Brands of Rock Valley, Joan Born of Britt, Iowa, Arlene (Bob) Vanden Top of Rock Valley.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Ada; son, Dennis Burggraaf; infant -brother, Arthur Burggraaf.
