FUNERAL NOTICE:

Larchwood, Iowa -- Albert F. Clercx, age 91 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Larchwood, died Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, Nov. 11th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Larchwood, IA, with Fr. Jeff Schleisman as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Larchwood Cemetery of Larchwood.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 10th from 2 – 8 PM, with the family present from 6- 8 PM at St. Mary’s Church in Larchwood. There will be a 7:00 PM Vigil service Friday evening at the church.

Albert Francis Clercx was born on June 11, 1915, the son of Peter W. and Margaret (Snyders) Clercx. He grew up on a farm southwest of Larchwood and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. On May 19, 1938, he was united in marriage to Frances A. Jensen at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rectory in Larchwood. The couple farmed southwest of Larchwood for fifty years and enjoyed traveling.

Albert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge of Sioux Falls. Albert played the Saxophone in a band called The Swingsters and the later years with the Serenaders playing dance music throughout the Sioux Falls area. Albert loved music. This past Thursday, November 9th, Albert died at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of ninety-one.

He is survived by one son, Arlen (wife Donna) Clercx of Tea, SD; one former daughter-in-law, Sharyn (husband Rev. Gary) Klatt of Luverne, MN; four grandchildren, Michelle (husband Cletus) Riedel of Albuquerque, NM, Nathan (wife Angie) Clercx of Yankton, SD, Justin (wife Jennifer) Clercx of Elk Point, SD and Chris (wife Angie) Clercx of Troy, MO; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Elaine; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Victoria Clercx of Renner, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; and one son, Ronald; four brothers, Frank, John, Joseph and Greg; two sisters, Ann Simons and Mary Agnes Kramer.
