Rock Rapids, Iowa -- Kenneth “Ken” Borman, age 86 of Rock Rapids, died Friday, June 08, 2007 at the Rock Rapids Health Care Centre.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 12th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, with Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Monday, June 11th from 2 – 8 PM, with the family present from 6 – 8 PM at the Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

Kenneth Louis Borman was born on September 27, 1920 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Louis H. and Clara (Griesse) Borman. He attended country school and graduated from Wilson High School in Rock Rapids. After school he farmed with his father for many years and later farmed with his two sons on the same farm he grew up on. On October 9, 1949 he married Rosemary Eihausen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. Ken served on the Immanuel Lutheran Church Council for many years and served as chairman for a time. He was active in church as a choir member and as treasurer of Luther League for many years. Ken also served his community as a school board member and was proud that the elementary school was built during his years of service.

In 1991, Ken and Rosemary moved to a house in town and Ken semi-retired from farming, but continued to help his sons. Ken enjoyed farming with his father and sons through the years. He was an animal lover, who enjoyed his many pets and even when he could no longer farm, he went to the farm to feed and visit the dogs and cats. He loved time spent with his family and loved to tell stories from the past, his family will treasure those stories forever.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Borman of Rock Rapids; two daughters, Bonnie (and David) Goldston of Bentleyville, Ohio and Kimberle (and David) Miller of George, Iowa; two sons, Keith (and Lori) Borman and Brian (and Terri) Borman, both of Rock Rapids; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-step-grandchildren, one special grandchild and one special great-grandchild; one sister, Marian (and Don) Schnepf of Rock Rapids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Clara Borman; and a sister, Dorothy Eubanks.
