BERNARDINA RACHUY, 85, SIBLEY IOWA, MAY 5, 2003

Bernardina Rachuy, 85, of Sibley, died Monday May 5, 2003 at Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center. Services were Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Little Rock, with internment in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley.

Bernardina Odens was born February 16, 1918 in Little Rock, Lyon County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Rosie (DeVries) Odens. She graduated from Little Rock high school and attended summer school to obtain a teaching certificate.

She taught country school in the Little Rock area 10 years before moving to her parents’ farm to care for them. They moved to Sibley in 1953.

On April 27, 1977 she married LeRoy Rachuy in Little Rock. They lived in Sibley.

Survivors include her husband, nieces and nephews.
