Obituary: Doon, IA: Bryce Dryfhout, 22, of Doon, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley after two courageous battles against cancer. Memorial Service 3 pm Saturday at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley. Burial at Hillside Cemetery at Doon, meeting 1:30 pm at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Visitation until 4 at funeral home and with family 5:30-7:30 pm Friday at Trinity Christian Reformed Church.

Bryce William Dryfhout was born February 22, 1989 in Rock Valley, son of Bill and Holli (Kelderman) Dryfhout. He attended Doon Christian School and graduated from Western Christian High School. He attended Dordt College for two years before working at Lems Auto Recyclers at Doon. Bryce was a member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church. He loved tinkering with cars; camping with family; collecting golf balls, hot wheels, and other replica cars. He also found great joy in listening to Christian music and playing board games especially Monopoly and Settlers of Catan. Bryce was loved and admired by his younger cousins and fellow campers at "Camp Bring it On".

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Make-A-Wish of Iowa, Camp Bring It On, or Doon Christian School.

Bryce is lovingly remembered by his parents, Bill and Holli; brother, Dylan, and sister, Kendra; grandmother, Elaine Kelderman, all of Doon; many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Kelderman; and grandparents, William and Anne Dryfhout.
