Pioneer Resident Dead

Funeral services for D. A. Wyckoff, former resident of this city, who has made his home near Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin, for many years, past and who passed away in a hospital in Superior, Wisconsin, was held here this morning. A host of old-time friends of the deceased and many of the members of the Odd Fellows lodge, of which he was a member, attended his last earthly service, and escorted the body to its last resting place.

Delivan Olonzo Wyckoff was born in Fayette county, Iowa, October 10, 1862. He came with his parents to Lyon county in the spring of 1881. In 1902 he moved to Lake Nebagamon near Superior, Wis., where he had been engaged in farming ever since. He passed away on January 15th, after a brief illness.

Mr. Wyckoff was a follower of the Christian Science faith and was held in the highest esteem by his neighbors and all who knew him as an honest and upright citizen. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Mr. Wyckoff had two brothers and two sisters, two of whom are surviving him, Mrs. J. K, Medberry, of Rock Rapids, and W. C. Wyckoff, of Twin Falls, Idaho. The two who died before him are Edwin L. Wyckoff, who passed away on March 10, 1894, and Jessie Wyckoff who answered her final summons March 15, 1915.

Funeral services were held from the Lockwood & Pirwitz undertaking parlors, this morning, and interment was in Riverview cemetery. Rev. Carl. P. Bast, delivered the sermon, and was assisted at the cemetery by members of the Odd Fellows lodge, who performed their ritualistic work.
