Funeral services for James Merle Castle, 79, of Sioux Falls, SD, were held March 20 in St. Joseph's Cathedral in Sioux Falls. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Larchwood.

He died March 17 at the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls.

James was born September 4, 1906, in Larchwood. He worked in the warehouse at the Grain Belt Brewery in Minneapolis, MN, for 26 years. He lived with his daughter in Colorado Springs, CO, until 1981 when he moved to Sioux Falls.

Survivors include a son, Dean of Canoga Park, CA; two daughters, Georgia Castle of Colorado Springs, CO, and Mrs. Vernon (Susan) Thomas, Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, George of Sioux Falls, and John of Missoula, MT; and four sisters, Sister Mary Ernestine of Omaha, NE, Catherine DeVaney and Miriam Nelson, both of Sioux Falls, and Josephine Brandts of Carter Lake.
