Funeral services were held at Our Saviors Church northwest of Inwood on Monday afternoon, August 29, 1955, for Ole P. Garvey, a former Inwood resident. Mr. Garvey, 80 years old, a retired farmer, died at his home in Sioux Falls on Friday, August 26, 1955 after a lingering illness.

Rev. Selmer Heen of Sioux Falls officiated with burial in our Saviors Church Cemetery.

Mr. Garvey was born at Inwood, July 20, 1875, and lived at Seattle, Washington, four years as a boy. Returning to Inwood again he grew to manhood here.

On July 20, 1900 he was united in marriage to Minnie Skoetheien and resided on a farm near Inwood for 27 years. In 1927 he moved to a farm near Madison, S.D., where they lived four years returning to Inwood in 1931.

In 1941 he retired and moved with his family to Sioux Falls, S.D. They observed their golden wedding in 1950. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Survivors are his widow, five daughters, Mrs. Raymond Gravning, Mrs. Theodore Ugland, Mrs. Sigvold Larson, Mrs. Kenneth Thorson and Mrs. Melvin Brue, all of Sioux Falls, two sons Duane of Sioux Falls and Palmer, Egland, North Dakota, a sister, Mrs. Joe Snartemo of Pasadena, Calif., 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Two sons preceded him in death; Odean in 1945 and Wallace in July of 1955.
