James Allen
James Allen, 85, died May 2, 2011 at the Doughterty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Mass of Christian Burial was held at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, with burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Alvord, IA.

James F. Allen was born in Alvord, IA on April 24, 1926 to Clem and Vera (Lawler) Allen. He attended Alvord school until his senior year and graduated from Rock Rapids. He worked on the family farm for 10 years.

He married Mary Anne Magnuson in 1954. Jim started his career in accounting, working for several different companies over the years. He ended his career by working 15 years for Prostrollo’s in Madison, SD. They retired to Larchwood where they lived for 23years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne of Larchwood; children; Jean and Steve McGee of Sioux Falls, Kathie and Al Lewis of Madison, SD, Barb and Paul Wilson of AZ, Larry and Lori Allen of Madison, SD, John and Sharon Allen of Sioux Falls, Terrie and Tim Preston of Omaha, and Joe and Brooke Allen of Omaha; daughter-in-law Patty Allen of Worthing, SD; special nephew, tom and Susan Krier of CA; brother, Joe and Betty Allen of MO; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grand-children; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
