Ex-Auditor Garver Dead.
David C. Garver, an old resident of Inwood and one of the best known citizens of Lyon county, died Wednesday morning at 3 o'clock at his home.

Mr. Garver was one of the oldest settlers of Lyon county and was prominent in business and political circles. He was a republican who always took an active part in politics, and as a reward for his faithful services was given the nomination for county auditor in the fall of 1894 and was elected by a substantial majority.

For years he has been in poor health and during his term of office was compelled to spend considerable time at the health resort at Eureka Springs, Ark. In the fall of 1896 he was re-electcd for another term although his poor health still continued and during his second term of office he was almost continually under a physician's care and unable to perform any labor.

Two years ago he returned from Eureka Springs to his Inwood home and since that time has been practically a physical wreck, owing to a stroke of paralysis.

During the civil war Mr. Garver was a soldier and served faithfully in many noted battles. He was a good hater and he was either a friend or an enemy, although to his credit be it said, that the latter class were few indeed.

Mr. Garver was a member of the Masonic lodge of this place and of the Odd Fellows order at Inwood, and the latter society-had charge of the funeral services at 3 o'clock today.

The deceased is survived by four children, two sons and two daughters, all grown to man's estate, and they have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement.
