Hold Willemstein rites at Doon
Funeral services were held at Doon Wednesday afternoon for Leen Willemstein, 62, who died in the Sioux Center hospital Sunday. The Rev. Paul Trompen officiated in the Doon Reformed church with Mrs. Lena Boscaljon at the organ. A quartet, Mrs. Eugene Hoppe, Mrs. Kenneth DeGroot, Dick Keizer and Ted Steintjes, sang two selections.
The Lockwood-Jongewaard Funeral home was in charge of arrangements with burial in Hillside cemetery. Bearers were Henry VanderWoude, marc Postma, Adolph Anderson, Andrew Gorter, Henry TenBraak, and Warren Anderson.

Mr. Willemstein was born in the Netherlands Nov. 14, 1901 and came to the United States a year later. He married Jessie (VanderSchaaf) Flier Sept. 23, 1945 He served as cemetery sexton at Doon until two years ago.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter Marie, and a step daughter, Arlene Flier, both at home, three sisters, Marie, Mrs. Jake Middendorp and Dena Visser, both of Grand Rapids, Mich, and Nellie, mrs. Pete Zwaan of Doon, and a brother, Paul of Dearborn, Mich.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Joann Flier, five brothers, a sister, and his parents.
