Obituary: Inwood, IA – Lillian Bramstedt, 91, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Fellowship Village, Inwood.

Funeral service will be 5 p.m., Friday at Inwood Community Center. Burial at Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday with the family present 1-3:30 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, Inwood.

Lillian Wilhemia Watke was born April 4, 1920 to Barnhard "Barney" and Laura (Stettnichs) Watke in Doon, IA.

Lillian was united in marriage to Edward Bramstedt on February 4, 1947 in Luverne, MN. Together they farmed near Doon and then in 1953 continued farming near Alvord, IA. Lillian worked at West Lyon School for 45 years as a janitor and kitchen help. Lillian and Ed retired to Inwood, IA in 2004. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years. Lillian enjoyed cooking, gardening and dancing. Ed died May 2, 2009. Lillian moved to Fellowship Village in March of 2011.

Lillian is survived by her son, Barry (Nancy) Bramstedt of Dakota Dunes, SD; her daughter, Glennis (Dennis) Chrissinger of Burnsville, MN, 5 grandchildren: Travis Niemi, Allison (Will) Poulson, Jessica (John) Bornhofen, Justin Niemi and Ashley (Kirk) Kooken; 2 great-grandchildren: Hannah Poulson and Nash Kooken; her sister, Lois Engman of Omaha, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; infant twin granddaughters: Sarah and Sally Bramstedt; son-in-law, Bruce Niemi; brothers: Harry, Elmer and Louie Watke; sister, Caroline Hamann.
